The "Herrsching" is the most advanced ship on German inland waters, (built in 2005) and combines traditional (paddle wheels) and technological progress (computer controlled drive) in an impressive symbiosis.

BVG incorporates tradition and progress, too. Although BVG is only 25 years old, the president of the company, Dr. Jochen Bauer, comes from an old paper making family and a fourth generation paper maker. The fifth generation, Tilman Bauer, also having a paper maker background, is joining the company right now, and will strengthen the sales force.

History of the Company

On October 1th.1984, Jochen Bauer took over an existing building and six employees in the location of Greifenberg and founded his new company with the name BVG, Bauer – Verfahrenstechnik – GmbH, which he is still running today.

From this humble beginning the company grew to an operation with a staff of 60 employees and two subsidiaries in the USA and China, generating revenue of approximately 15 million EUR per year.

BVG manufactures chemical processing equipment, primarily for the paper- and corrugating industry, but also for the beverage, spun glass and food industries.
The products of BVG are truly "State of the Art", as Jochen Bauer demonstrated in an impressive video-presentation on the "Herrsching".

There are about 40 chemicals in coated papers, which have to be handled, processed and metered completely automatically,- there is a wide field of actions to be covered.
BVG has focused on this market and has generated an infrastructure,- to offer full scale systems on a turnkey basis, from manufacturing tanks, various processing equipment, electrical cabinets, programming of DCS systems, installation work and commissioning.

BVG is the only company of its size in Germany, able to cover any kind of chemical handling system needed in a paper mill. The main effort has always been and remains the quality of our products combined with a sophisticated automation. This commitment helped to bench mark some of the BVG products.

The party went on until late night, with good food and good drinks, supported by live entertainment by the band “Humorikus Bavarius”. A great day came to a satisfying end. Even St. Peter was in a good mood, and had sent a nice warm day, with typical Bavarian weather in “white and blue”.
